Who we are
CARTOON is an international non-profit association based in Brussels whose mission is to support the animation industry. Founded in 1988, the organisation focuses on creating year-round opportunities for animation professionals to meet, exchange and develop their projects. CARTOON operates with a European outlook and benefits from co-funding by the Creative Europe - MEDIA Programme.
Core activities

VerhaalWe started CARTOON in Brussels with a clear, simple belief: animation deserves a strong professional ecosystem. Since 1988 we have worked as an international non-profit association to connect creators, producers and industry specialists through a year-round programme of events. Our days are spent designing gatherings where ideas, projects and partnerships can grow—panels, marketplaces and pitch sessions that respond to the real needs of animation professionals. Being co-funded by the Creative Europe - MEDIA Programme allows us to maintain a European perspective while remaining practical and hands-on. We’re proud to be a persistent presence for the animation community: convening, listening and adapting so the industry can thrive together.
